John 4:1-45

Gospel of John - Good News

Jesus and the Samaritan Woman - This week, we return to our study of the Gospel of John. Our text is John 4:1-45, Jesus and the Samaritan Woman. This is a familiar text to many of us, but this week I want to show you something that you may not have noticed before. While the Samaritan woman (like all of us) needed forgiveness for her sins, Jesus’ self-identification as the Christ that both Samaritans and Jews expected opens up an entirely new way to understand her desperate situation and the hope that Jesus offered to her. That same hope is extended to you and me who believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Savior of the world. John 4:1-45.

From Series: "Gospel of John - Good News"

The New Year is a great time to revisit the story of Jesus, because our hope for the future is only as secure as our grounding in the person and work of Christ for us. Even though this Gospel isn’t about us, it is for us—Jesus is the Word who is life, and that life is the light of all men. No matter what future you are staring down this New Year, I want you to have the unshakable confidence that the Word which spoke life into being holds your life in his hands and the darkness will not overcome it.
