John 4:43-54

Gospel of John - Good News

Your Own Personal Jesus - John presents three interactions with Jesus in a row: with Nicodemus, with the Samaritan woman, and with an unnamed Galilean official (probably in the employ of Herod the Tetrarch). Each vignette gives us a different picture of Jesus’ saving work and the kind of response people had to him. This week, we turn to consider the story of Jesus’ interaction with the Galilean official who sought healing for his son. Jesus seems harsh in this story, but the reasons for his reaction help us to see the real danger behind all of our requests for God to intervene in our life circumstances. Join us this Sunday as we consider the problem of answered prayer. John 4:43-54.

From Series: "Gospel of John - Good News"

The New Year is a great time to revisit the story of Jesus, because our hope for the future is only as secure as our grounding in the person and work of Christ for us. Even though this Gospel isn’t about us, it is for us—Jesus is the Word who is life, and that life is the light of all men. No matter what future you are staring down this New Year, I want you to have the unshakable confidence that the Word which spoke life into being holds your life in his hands and the darkness will not overcome it.
