The Covenant - As Noah steps off the ark into a world washed clean of wickedness, God delivers the bad news: “the intention of man’s heart is evil from his youth.” What’s to stop God from exercising judgment against the world again? In Genesis 8:20--9:17, God makes a covenant with Noah for the common good of the world. This Sunday, we’ll see how this covenant of common grace is linked to God’s other covenants that lead to the redemption of his people through Jesus Christ. We’ll also see how the Noahic Covenant is the foundation for our own continuing cultural engagement with the world. Genesis 8:20--9:17.
