February 2 and 3, Redeemer hosted a conference provided by leaders of the Austin Center for Faith & Work. During the month of February, we will be praying for their ministry as our featured mission of the month.
The Austin Center for Faith & Work is a growing community of workplace leaders seeking to love God and neighbor through daily work. They gather, develop, and empower people to work as God intended. Their programs provide peer community, mentorship, professional development, and theological training to help leaders work with hope, purpose, and excellence in service to others. They believe diverse, Spirit-led communities of practice are ideal for change and only rich spiritual lives sustain sacrificial service to others.
“Our aim is straightforward and heartfelt: to develop spiritually vibrant leaders who want to see Greater Austin flourish. This means bringing glimpses of heaven on earth through Spirit-led, sacrificially generous, and radically relational leadership,” says Executive Director Steve Teng. “Our mission is to resource and amplify the work God is doing in our city. As you navigate the complexities of your professional life, we hope to provide a supportive and enriching environment where you can connect with peers and mentors, access theological resources, join programs that help you discern and take your next step, and attend events designed to empower you in living out your faith in your specific work context. We believe that together, we can contribute to a kingdom-connected city and make a lasting impact on the lives of those around us. Join us on this journey as we seek to glorify God in our workplaces and create a brighter future for Austin.”
