This fall, women from the Austin area and beyond will gather at Redeemer for a great opportunity for learning and fellowship. Redeemer is hosting a Biblical Theology Workshop for Women with speaker Nancy Guthrie on Friday, November 3, and Saturday, November 4. Due to the expected attendance for this event, Nancy will be presenting the same workshop on two consecutive days, so you will choose one day to attend. (The only cost will be for the worship notebook materials: $23 early bird; $33 after September 30; goes up to $43 after October 27.) Lunch will be on your own at one of many local restaurants, or you can bring your lunch and eat at Redeemer.

So mark your calendar for November 3 or November 4. Share the invitation with friends, and get ready to have a day full of engagement and lively interaction with other women!

Tracing Themes [more workshop details here]
Over three sessions, Nancy Guthrie will work through the basic makeup and storyline of the Bible. She’ll trace major themes that run from Genesis to Revelation and demonstrate how a better grasp of these themes that the divine Author has written into his book can help us to understand and apply it rightly. Nancy’s goal is to help women see the beauty, sufficiency, and necessity of Jesus Christ in fresh ways through these various themes. Her desire is that women will leave the workshop loving him more and longing more for his return. The three sessions promise to be energetic and fun. They include:
– Telling the Bible’s Big Story
– Tracing the Bible’s Main Themes
– Making the Bible’s Intended Connections

About Nancy Guthrie [learn more here]
Nancy teaches the Bible at her home church, Cornerstone Presbyterian Church (PCA) in Franklin, Tenn., as well as at conferences around the country and internationally. She is the host of the “Help Me Teach the Bible” podcast at The Gospel Coalition. She is the author of numerous books, including Even Better Than Eden: Nine Ways the Bible’s Story Changes Everything About Your Story, which traces nine themes that run from Genesis to Revelation in the Bible. This spring, our own Journey of Motherhood group has been reading and discussing her book The Promised One. Nancy offers companionship and biblical insight to the grieving through Respite Retreats that she and her husband, David, host for couples who have faced the death of a child; through the GriefShare video series; and through books such as Holding on to Hope and Hearing Jesus Speak into Your Sorrow. Her newest books are Saints & Scoundrels in the Story of Jesus and God Does His Best Work with Empty.

We’re looking forward to having Nancy here to help us understand our Bibles better so that we can more clearly grasp what God is saying to us through his Word. And we look forward to having lots of guests join us for what should be a memorable day of fun and learning together!
