At Redeemer, we understand the church to be a community of Christians who are bound together for mutual support and encouragement. One of the ways we express that commitment is through the process of formal church membership. A commitment to membership is essentially a public profession of your faith in Christ, together with a promise to serve God’s people with the gifts he has given you. We invite you to take this step and deepen your connection to our community.

Here are the steps in our membership process:

  1. Explore: Spend some time exploring the church by worshiping on Sundays, attending a School of Discipleship class, or checking out one of our Small Groups. Ask questions and get to know other Redeemer members.
  2. Attend Intro to Redeemer: This two-part membership class, held every few months, is designed to help you learn more about our church and what membership entails, including a discussion of the five membership vows. First, we’ll send you the link for a set of videos prepared by Pastor Bryce Waller that you can watch at home, then you will attend a follow-up discussion group on a Sunday afternoon at the church. Please contact Pastor Bryce for registration information: bwaller@redeemerpres.org.
  3. Fill Out our Membership Paperwork: After attending Intro to Redeemer, you can fill out our Membership Application. If you are married, we ask that both spouses fill out their own application so that we can have contact details for the whole family. If you have children who are expressing an interest in church membership and the Lord’s Table, you can use this document to help you prepare them. It contains selected questions from the First Catechism and a guide for parents. When your child is ready to make a profession of faith, please fill out this form.
  4. Schedule an Interview: Once your paperwork has been completed, our office will schedule a time for you to meet with two of our elders who will spend 30-45 minutes getting to know you and your family.
  5. Take Vows: During one of our Sunday morning services, you will join other incoming members to take vows before the congregation and be welcomed into the church!
