1 Peter 3:8-22

Letters to Exiles: 1 & 2 Peter

Many of us have known many remarkable people: men and women who have loved us, who loved God, and in their love for God they have uniquely cared and comforted others through the ministry of Christ's compassion and grace. Christ, in the wonder of our salvation, is working to transform us into such people. He is forming us to be men and women defined by a new character, who have persevered and been refined through suffering and who cherish our baptism with such fervor and depth, that through the work of Christ's spirit in us, we serve the church and the world in Christ-like purity and grace. This Sunday as we worship, we will wonder at Christ's work in us, and challenge ourselves to take the next step in our spiritual growth, so that we might be more quickly conformed to Christ and bless his church through his glorious work in his people.

From Series: "Letters to Exiles: 1 & 2 Peter"

This spring, we begin a new sermon series through the letters of the Apostle Peter. 1st and 2nd Peter were written to Christians who were navigating their new identity as people of God while still living and working in the world.
