1 Samuel 8:4-22

The Gospel According to Samuel

This week, we reach the end of our fall series in the book of First Samuel and we conclude with Samuel’s solemn warning to the people of Israel. They have demanded a king “like all the nations,” but by doing so they have rejected God as their king. Samuel tells the people the hard truth about earthly kings. As we listen to his warning, we should also be aware of our own tendency to trust individuals, institutions, and ideals the way that God alone can be trusted.

From Series: "The Gospel According to Samuel"

We continue our series covering the Old Testament book of First Samuel. We will hear the stories of King David and Solomon, the building of the Temple, and the glory of Israel under God’s blessing in the land of promise. We pick up with the introduction of Saul and will follow the story of the newly appointed King.
