Genesis 2:4-25
Better Homes and Gardens - In Genesis 2, we get a picture of paradise: Adam and Eve in perfect harmony with God, one another, and the created sphere. Our beings long for this same kind of earthly paradise because within our hearts sound the echoes of Eden. Our attempts, however, at recreating an idyllic garden existence only result in chaos, death, and despair. Is there any way for us to know peace in our daily existence? Will we ever know the kind of completeness and fullness that Adam and Eve knew in their marriage relationship, in their work, and in their own sense of purpose? Although we can’t go back to Eden, we can go forward to a new Garden Temple where the same Tree of Life that was held out to Adam and Eve as a reward for their obedience is promised to us because of the obedience of another. This Sunday, we’ll consider all of this and more as we continue on in our new sermon series in Genesis. Genesis 2:4-25.
