John 7:37-52

Gospel of John - Good News

Living Water - In the early 1900s, “Wildcatters” roamed Texas sinking exploratory wells, looking for the next big oil deposit. Many of us act like wildcatters in our own lives: we are constantly sinking test wells, hoping to find a gusher—something that will give us satisfaction. This Sunday, we’ll finish John 7 and hear Jesus call out to the crowds in Jerusalem, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink.” How can Jesus promise us soul satisfaction? What does he even mean? Join us as we conclude our series in John for the spring. John 7:37-52.

The New Year is a great time to revisit the story of Jesus, because our hope for the future is only as secure as our grounding in the person and work of Christ for us. Even though this Gospel isn’t about us, it is for us—Jesus is the Word who is life, and that life is the light of all men. No matter what future you are staring down this New Year, I want you to have the unshakable confidence that the Word which spoke life into being holds your life in his hands and the darkness will not overcome it.
