Genesis 48

Genesis: An Uncertain Future

Although death may not be a pleasant topic for conversation, it is the great equalizer. We all die. So, it is important for us to wrestle with questions of profound importance: how will you die? How will you think about your death? How can you prepare others to consider their own deaths? In Genesis 48 we find Jacob near the end of his life. The famine is over, his children and grandchildren are firmly settled in Egypt, but Jacob is looking beyond his own death to the future. What gives him confidence of a future beyond death? What can we learn from him and how can we walk in confidence toward the future God is creating for us?
