Psalm 118:19-29

Easter Season

This Sunday we’ll remember the triumphal entrance of Jesus into Jerusalem by looking at Psalm 118, a powerful Messianic psalm that celebrates the enthronement of Israel’s king. Jesus, of course, rode toward a different kind of throne and a different kind of crown. Psalm 118 includes phrases sung by Israel’s king and phrase sung by the people who praise God for his faithfulness to them. As we study this psalm together, we’ll discover how Jesus’ entry into Jerusalem also wraps us up in his victory over sin and death.
