Romans 4:1-25

Romans

This week we continue our series in the book of Romans and examine Paul's discussion of Abraham's faith. For any group, the values of our forebears informs our collective identity. Paul targets Abraham's faith (Gen. 15:6), as the example of justification, to remind the church at Rome that justification by faith is not a new idea; rather, it has been the foundation of salvation from the earliest stages of the Lord's salvific ministry. In focusing on verses 17-25, we will examine the nature of Abraham's faith, and seek to understand how justification by faith functions throughout the covenant of grace.
