Zephaniah 3:14-20

Advent & Christmas

The Song of God - “SMH." Sometimes even the people we love most can cause us to shake our heads. Disappointment. Frustration. Anger. Love and affection can quickly turn sour, especially with the holidays magnifying all the stress we normally feel. God has more reason than any of us to be disappointed in us. He is always aware of our sin (“thought, word, and deed”), but Zephaniah tells us that he rejoices over us with singing! Think back to the last time you sang to someone—what joy and affection for that person compelled you to sing? This third week of Advent, we learn why God sings over us and the difference it can make for us.
