Texas StuMo (Student Mobilization) exists to build reproducing followers of Christ from UT to reach the campus and the world. They aim to see laborers for Christ who walk deeply with Jesus and engage the lost around them with the gospel be raised up and launched out after they graduate. We’re praying for the Lord to use Texas StuMo to export 400 of these laborers by 2040. They do ministry with many affinity groups on groups, mostly focusing on fraternities, sororities, other non-greek mens organizations, and dorms.
Matt Gallegos is in his sixth year of working for StuMo at The University of Texas, doing ministry in three fraternities – Sigma Phi Epsilon, Kappa Sigma, and Beta Theta Pi. This ministry includes meeting freshmen, having Investigative Bible Discussions, evangelism, and discipleship of the guys who already follow Jesus.
In January, Matt will be stepping into the position of Campus Director of Texas StuMo, shifting his main priority to shepherding their staff team and setting them up to win in grassroots ministry. Matt asks for prayer echoing what is written in Colossians 4:2-4 “Continue steadfastly in prayer, being watchful in it with thanksgiving. At the same time, pray also for us, that God may open to us a door for the word, to declare the mystery of Christ, on account of which I am in prison— that I may make it clear, which is how I ought to speak.”
