This fall, as we mark the 25th anniversary of Redeemer’s founding, we’re hosting a conference with speaker Rev. Dr. Ligon Duncan, chancellor of Reformed Theological Seminary, whose pastoral ministry spanned three decades and four congregations. Dr. Duncan has authored, co-authored, edited or contributed to more than 35 books. Learn more about our speaker here.

Register now for this free conference as we look forward to hearing from Dr. Duncan on Friday evening, Nov. 1, and Saturday morning, Nov. 2, on the topic of God’s Gracious Promises: Covenant Theology and Its Implications for the Christian Life.

In addition, Dr. Duncan will preach in both of our services on Sunday, Nov. 3, and will join us for our All Saints’ Feast that evening. It will be a wonderful weekend recalling God’s faithfulness to us over the past 25 years, and digging deeper into his covenant promises for our lives today!

“Why Understand Covenant Theology?”
Here are four practical reasons given by Dr. Ligon Duncan:
  1. Assurance – “Covenant Theology is designed to help a believer know why he or she is certain that when God promises to save you, you are saved.”
  2. Atonement – “Covenant Theology explains what Jesus accomplished for you when he died for you. And believers never can know enough about the cross…Covenant Theology helps you understand what the cross did for you.”
  3. The Sacraments – “Covenant Theology helpfully explains the role that the sacraments of baptism and the Lord’s Supper play in growing you in grace in the Christian life.”
  4. The Bible – “Covenant Theology helps you know how to read your Bible better. It helps you to put the whole story of the Bible together.”
