Drs. Isaac and Anne Hotz (with their children Madelyn, Josiah, and Gideon) have been serving as medical missionaries at mission hospitals in both Africa and mainly Honduras over the past nine years. They provide medical care to the poor and needy in developing nations and use that opportunity to share the good news and hope of Christ with people who are suffering physically and in spirit. They plan to return to the Peña Blanca region of Honduras in March 2023.

Their Story
In October (2022), the family left Hospital Loma de Luz Honduras after almost eight years of service there. Since then they have been using their time in the States to rejuvenate and seek out God’s will for their next season and possible mission assignment. After prayer and consideration, they feel at least an initial call to the Peña Blanca region (a completely different area) of Honduras, where Isaac previously worked for a year in 2002-2003. They will be working alongside a Christian clinic named Salt and Light to use what they have learned over the past eight years running a hospital to increase their capacity in the region during this period of transition. They plan to share with them what they have learned to help them better function in service as a Christian medical ministry. Additionally, they will serve as a consultant for another medical ministry who requested assistance and is hoping to expand in the area. During this time of transition, they hope to be assessing support present to start a new 140 bed hospital in the region which they’ve been asked to come help with.

Partnership Needs
Isaac and Anne say that Redeemer has already been an amazing encouragement and support to them through the years. “We are so grateful for that and hope to continue partnering with Redeemer in this next phase of our ministry. We hope to connect with people who have the financial means to make such a ministry (a Christian hospital ministry) one of their life’s works,” they say. “While we belong to an excellent team that can make such a work thrive logistically, we still need to raise financial means. We will also be looking for expertise and service from people with construction and engineering skills. Please join us in praying that the Lord would direct our steps in this process and give us wisdom to discern his will.”

Please Pray
Keep the plans for the new hospital in Peña Blanca in your prayers.
Pray that they would be a blessing to the Salt and Light ministry, which is already present in the area.
Pray for the Hotz family (including the children) as well as the Anderson family (fellow missionaries) as they transition back to ministry. The children will have to make new friends and learn a new “normal.”
Pray for their extended medical team, that they would all know and taste of God’s goodness, and trust in him alone.
