We are thankful to the Lord for his provision of two new assistant pastors for Redeemer, Jon Herr and Danny Morgan. Both of these men and their families will be arriving and beginning their ministries among us during the month of September, and we will be welcoming them in several ways!
Unloading assistance: Watch for specific opportunities to help (anticipated dates are Sept. 14 and 17)
“Pounding” the Pastors: Often accredited to the Quakers, for a pounding (usually before a wedding), guests brought pantry items as gifts. The name comes from the fact that most of the items (coffee, grain, flour, sugar) would be sold by the pound. We want to fill the Herrs’ and Morgans’ pantries with nonperishable items, as well as gift them with local food and beverages. We’ll start taking donations on Sept. 4, and continue through Sept. 18. Sign up below so we can provide a variety of items for them.
Welcome Dinner: On Sunday, Sept. 18, we’ll have a barbecue dinner at 5 p.m. in our hall to welcome the Herr and Morgan families to Austin and to Redeemer! Mark your calendar and plan to attend! (Our Children’s Choirs and Youth Group will meet as usual at 6 p.m.)
